About the event
The School’s goal is to offer in-depth technical, scientific, and regulatory training on issues related to water network management and the selection of efficiency interventions, with the aim of providing participants with:
- An overview of the progress of projects funded by the PNRR M2-C4-I4.2 call (water loss reduction, digitalization and network monitoring), updates on the challenges and opportunities for completing the projects on schedule;
- An update on the regulation of technical quality (RQTI) following the most recent ARERA resolutions, with updates on performance parameters and criteria for evaluating the efficiency of the water service;
- Best practice approaches, new technologies, and operational tools for managing water systems in the areas of pressure management, asset management, metering, modeling, digitalization, and water loss management;
- An overview of innovation in the water sector with a focus on digitalisation, change management and training;
- An overview of monitoring, modelling and innovation in sewer systems and wastewater treatment.
The topics of this edition include: the adoption of AI solutions for water system management, asset and construction site management, piping material selection and trenchless technologies, energy efficiency, implementation of PSAs ( Water Security Plans ), sustainability and Carbon Neutrality policies , stormwater management including modelling, monitoring and Natural Base Solutions, the adoption of innovation in the wastewater purification and reuse sector based on the new European Directive .
This edition will review the results achieved by the projects awarded PNRR-M2C4-I4.2 funds and provide practical guidance on managing district networks after the completion of the PNRR. Specifically, the methods and technologies for managing water systems will be presented and discussed, as well as the extension of the PNRR approach over time and to other water systems.
In particular, this edition will see the participation of Allan Lambert , a recognized international leader in water loss management, who will hold a keynote speech within a special session dedicated to the best international experiences in water loss management.
The second day (May 13) offers two parallel paths:
- Track 1 – Water Systems Asset Management
- Track 2 – Innovative management of sewerage and wastewater treatment systems
